Entertainingly, our line manager came round us all this week, with a message from the shift manager, asking if anyone would like to put themselves forward for positions as Deputy Managers.

After much hilarity, lack of interest and the usual workplace banter, more in depth and articulate answers were given.

Generally people said, for them, the longer hours, stress, paperwork and grief from staff and higher managers, just wasn't worth it.

 I can imagine that to some, an extra £30 a week is a big deal (understandably so in this culture of low wages and zero hours contracts).  

  

BUT, if you can, AND if you really want it,

there are other ways to earn a living, with a lot less stress and grief.

And so when my turn came to answer, I just casually said,

"No thanks, I'm in MyAdvertisingPays and I currently earn around £500 per week and rising online, but if the shift manager is interested, I can show him how to do it too!"
